Homestead opens its doors for Spondon Safari weekend

One of Spondon's most prominent landmarks will be open to the public during the upcoming Spondon Safari weekend on 19th and 20th July.

The Homestead on Sitwell Street has recently been taken over by new owners Phil and Julia Butts who recently launched their new day spa business inside the Grade I Georgian property. The Homestead Retreat, as it is now known, first opened its doors to the public during Spondon Day in June and was so popular that the owners have decided to hold another open day as part of the Social Safari weekend.

The Mayor of Derby will be officially opening this year's Social Safari at the Homestead at 10.30am on Saturday 19th July. The house will then be open for public tours until 1pm that afternoon and also serving refreshments in the marquee outside.

On Sunday 20th, there will be a host of events open to everyone in the grounds of the Homestead from 5-7pm in the evening, including a BBQ, children's play area, putting competition and bottle tombola plus an ice cream factory and cakes in the marquee.

Everyone is welcome to come along to both occasions during the Spondon Safari as the Homestead joins the many other Safari Stops open to the public during the weekend. Click here for full details of the Spondon Safari weekend across the village.
