We're keen to hear from local businesses who are interested in providing prizes for competitions which we run here on the website and on our Facebook page.
Competition sponsorship is a great way to raise awareness of your business and its Facebook page and/or website. As a competition sponsor, your business will be mentioned in every promotion we do of the competition and can also include a link to your website or Facebook page each time.
Typically, each competition runs 1 and 2 weeks depending on the prize value on offer* (ie the larger the prize value, the longer the competition runs and, therefore, the greater exposure for your business). Each competition is promoted regularly and prominently on:
- The Spondon Online website (average monthly visits: 3,400i))
- Our Facebook page - www.facebook.com/spondononline (over 4,000 'Likes'/'Friends'. Over 70,000 people reached in total with our posts each month(ii))
- Our Twitter feed - www.twitter.com/spondononline (1000+ followers(iii))
To sponsor a competition, you simply need to provide a prize with a minimum value of £30. Prize suggestions may include:
- Specific goods selected by you
- A gift voucher to spend at your business
- A specific service provided to the winner to a minimum value of £30
* Typically a £30 prize will see the competition running for 1 week. Prizes of £45 or more will run for longer.
In return, your business will be mentioned in every promotion we do of the competition, both during the competition and when we announce the winner(s). Each promotion can contain a link to either your Facebook page or your website. The majority of promotions will also feature an image of either the prize or a competition logo, either of which can feature your business logo if required.
Typically we will expect to promote competitions:
- an average of 2-3 times per week on our Facebook page and Twitter feed
- prominently on the Spondon Online website for the duration of the competition
The mechanics of the competition will be agreed with each sponsor but would typically be one of:
- Entry by liking/sharing a post on our Facebook page
- Entry by completing an online entry form on our website
- Offline entry by the competition sponsor accepting completed, printed entry forms at their premises (* higher value prizes only)
