Spondon Day 2016 - Saturday 25th June

Spondon Day 2016 - Saturday 25th June
Published: 3rd April 2016

Our own special celebration of our Village, Spondon Day, is on Saturday 25th June this year and we hope and expect that it will be bigger and better than ever.

The annual event is organised by the Spondon Traders Association and chairman Mark Davis says the STA is looking to make this year’s event the best yet. Mark said: “This year, we are expecting an even bigger fun fair throughout the village centre, and the craft fair will definitely be bigger and better. If you enjoy any craft hobby, this will be an event that must not be missed. If you would like a stall, contact us through the STA Facebook page (details below) and we'll certainly try to fit you in.”

“We will be celebrating and showcasing the Traders' Association members shops and businesses in a rather special way on the day, so keep your eyes open for that.”

“One part of the event that we would love to increase is the music, dance and live entertainment on the day. Are you in a band or choir? A dance troupe? A solo artist that would love to entertain the people of Spondon? Get in touch and we can have a chat about what we can arrange together.”

“The event is scheduled to run from 1.30pm till 5.30pm, with the roads being closed from 12.30 till 6.30. The craft show will run from 12.00 till 6.00, so it's going to be a busy exciting day with something on offer to enjoy for all the family!”

“The Spondon Traders' Association and all its members always appreciate the support of everyone in Spondon and further afield. We couldn't put on these events without you buying raffle tickets, putting donations into our tins, and supporting our local business. We feel that having our Village celebrations are a way of saying thank you. “

On another matter completely, the Traders' Association and its members care passionately about the appearance of the Village Centre. We will be doing something special over the next few weeks - in fact by the time you read this it could have started - so keep an eye out and let us know what you think!
