Keeping Spondon's roads and footways flowing

Spondon Neighbourhood Board has a number of priorities including to make roads and footways safer, reduce vehicle parking issues and improve safety around schools.

One way the Board seeks to address these priorities is to tackle inconsiderate parking, working in partnership with the Council’s Parking Services team and the Police.

A recent Police and Parking Services campaign saw the Police issue four tickets and give advice to many drivers about parking on Sitwell Street. Between 1 April and 30 September 2015 there have been 648 visits by Civil Enforcement Officers to Spondon. 81 vehicles being observed and 32 Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) issued. The other 48 vehicles moved following advice given.

PCN's issued on Oxford St, Poplar Ave, Chapel St, Chapel Side, Willowcroft Rd, Sitwell St, Church St and West Road.

In addition CCTV Car Enforcement has taken place at Spondon Schools since the Traffic Regulation Orders were introduced at the start of term in September 2015 for the yellow zig zag lines outside the schools. The CCTV car has visited the schools on 6 occasions and no PCNs issued.

While it is pleasing that no PCN has been issued, the car is continuing to visit the schools.
