Congratulations go to all involved in Spondon's entry to this year's Britain in Bloom competition after the village took the Silver award for the 'Best Urban Community' category.
The award was announced at a special ceremony held in Birmingham last night (Wed 29 Sept) and followed months of hard work and preparation. While there was obvious disappointment in not scooping the top prize, everyone involved should be very proud of the huge effort put in.
The portfolio put together for the competition really shows off what a great community spirit we have in Spondon and how everyone pulls together to make an effort.
