A further meeting is to be held in Spondon to discuss how the community can join in the celebrations to mark this year's Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
At an initial meeting held at the start of March, people came forward or sent in contributions for event ideas. The meeting organisers were keen to see that events planned by organisations for the long bank holiday weekend in June do not clash and whether the community as a whole can come together to put on something.
Various ideas and venues are now being looked at to check what is involved in putting on something over part of the holiday that will provide entertainment for all ages in addition to what some groups may also wish to do.
The next meeting will be held at The Old School, Chapel Street, on Tuesday 15th March at 7pm. Anyone with ideas and/or those willing to help are invited to go along.
Anyone who cannot make the meeting but has ideas or wants to help should call 07521 148143.
