Spondon goes to the pictures in new book

The latest book in the local history series, the Spondon Archive, will be available soon.

"Spondon goes to the pictures" is a history of Spondon's Sitwell Cinema and had been written by Anita Hayes and Ruth Hooper.

The cinema was a local institution for the 30 years of its existence and is still fondly remembered by many in the village.

The book includes reminiscences of many of those involved in the running of the cinema. It will be available at the end of May and first goes on sale at the VIC Spring Fair on 23rd May.
