Introducing the "Sounds of Spondon"

A new music CD by local artists will be on sale for the first time during Spondon Day on Saturday 22nd June.

The “Sounds of Spondon” album features 14 songs by residents of Spondon and visitors to the weekly folk night, every Tuesday at the Vernon Arms, Spondon. Some tracks were written especially for the project, others adapted from other well-known songs.

The concept for the album came from Derek Hathaway from Spondon Village Improvement Committee and most of the tracks were recorded especially for the CD in May 2013 by Ben Haynes for Haynes Music Productions. It features a wide range of musical styles from pop and rock, to folk and choir music.

The CD will be available from the Spondon merchandise stall during Spondon Day on Saturday 22nd June and then from various local shops after 22nd June.

The album is also available to download, priced just £5. You can order your downloadable copy right now by clicking here. This link also lets you listen to each of the tracks in more detail.
